Thermador dishwasher error codes

What the code on the display usually means. Codes differ between models and years, so if yours isn't here or the meaning doesn't match, call and read it to us.

E01Heating issue. Problem with the dishwasher's heating element or related components.
E15Water in the base tray. Water has leaked into the base of the dishwasher, potentially activating the anti-flood device.
E24Drainage error. Problem with the dishwasher's ability to drain. Often a blockage in the drain hose or pump.
E25Pump blocked. Dishwasher's pump is blocked by debris or food particles.
E09Heating circuit issue. Potential problem within the heating circuit, affecting the dishwasher's ability to heat water.

Common Thermador dishwasher problems

Water left in the bottom

A clogged filter or drain hose, a jammed drain pump, or a garbage disposal knockout plug that was never removed when the dishwasher was installed.

Dishes come out dirty

Clogged spray arms or filter, water that isn't hot enough, or a weak wash pump.

Leaking

A worn door gasket, a cracked spray arm, a leaking inlet valve, or regular dish soap used by mistake.

Won't start or stops mid-cycle

A door latch switch, the control board or a thermal fuse.

Check these before you call

If one of these fixes it, you don't need us.

  • Pull out and rinse the filter at the bottom of the tub. Many models need this every month.
  • Run the kitchen tap until it's hot before you start a cycle.
  • If it was just installed and won't drain, check the knockout plug in the garbage disposal inlet.
  • Check the breaker, and the wall switch under the sink if you have one.

Repair or replace?

A leaking tub or a failed control board on an older, low-end dishwasher can cost more than replacing it. We'll quote first so you can decide.

Dishwasher repair questions

Why does a cycle take two or three hours?

Many newer dishwashers run that long on a normal cycle to save water and energy. That's by design, not a fault.

Why does my dishwasher smell?

Food stuck in the filter is the usual reason. Clean the filter and run a hot empty cycle with dishwasher cleaner.
